Diversity and Inclusion are among the hottest buzzwords in the industry right now,
separating between those who lead and serve as role models, and those who are still hesitant to break traditional mindsets.

Although many tech companies realize the benefits of diversity in the workplace, being proactive and making a difference requires effort.
In practice, only a few candidates have the required qualifications to get hired and the work environment may not be inclusive enough.

At the same time, underrepresented minority groups, such as the transgender community, are hungry for opportunities to find a rewarding and accepting workplace. Yet they are often faced with day-to-day challenges that prevent them from participating.

How we can help?

Our project aim to be the bridge between the trans* community and tech companies. We provide transgender and non-binary people with a program that helps them to develop their skills, fulfill their potential and successfully land their first job in HiTech.

The program works on 4 levels:

Transpose, an introductory course

A course providing the basic tools and knowledge required to be part of the tech environment. This includes an overview of the industry, business English classes and office skills. In our first cohort there were 16 students, 10 of whom graduated successfully and 4 have already found a fitting position.

A list of advanced courses

Transpose graduates, and anyone who meets the basic qualifications, can participate in a variety of professional courses in technical fields, ranging from programming, QA and cybersecurity. These courses have a track record of success in educating and placing graduates in known companies.

Empowerment and emotional support

Even before starting the courses, and long after graduating, there will be an emotional safety net. This emotional support will be provided by experienced social workers and trans* mentors who already work in tech companies.

Guidance and support channel for tech companies

A support channel to help companies that wish to become more inclusive to the transgender community, or that have specific challenges. This will include guidance, education and direct support for employers.

This program ensures a repeatable and reliable process that increases diversity and inclusion

What you get?

Inclusion of trans* employees in the workplace leads to:

Higher profits, as shown in studies [1][2]

How You Can Help?

You can help our project in any of these ways:

Paid or unpaid OJT or internships

Bring graduates into your organization for 3-6 months to do hands-on training. You don't have to pay in full or hire them later, but you can still give them valuable opportunities to get their hands dirty and acquire experience.

Affirmative action

Create an HR process in which for every junior or entry level position (R&D or not), the first go-to is the pool of our participants and graduates. Only hire those who fit, but give the first opportunity to the transgender community.

People

Dedicate or donate employees’ time as mentors, facilitators, tutors, lecturers, etc.

Space

Dedicate or donate an auditorium for lectures, offices for classes and tutorials, etc.

Equipment

Donate computers, equipment (e.g. mouses and keyboards), OS licenses, application licenses, online courses and certifications, etc.

Finance

Financially endorse participants or the program.

Public Relations

Promote our project on social networks and in the media.

Of course, any other forms of support are welcome!
